Our country has a short history of self-designed and produced torque limiters. Before 1990, most torque limiters were mechanical; due to lack of rules and regulations, their reliability was generally poor. Since the State Bureau of Technical Supervision issued the "Safety Technical Specifications for Crane Torque Limiters" in 1990, there have been clearer standards, specifications and methods for the design, identification and acceptance of this device.

 

Torque limiters have developed rapidly in recent years, showing the following characteristics: the host is integrated and more and more intelligent; the display adopts multi-window and large screen; the latest product adds a "black box" function, It can record the real-time operation of the crane; the remote monitoring function based on the Internet of Things can remotely monitor various working condition data of the crane in real time; the appearance is more beautiful; the installation and adjustment are simple, and the reliability of the product has been greatly improved.

Despite this, the author believes that there are still many areas for improvement in the torque limiters currently on the market. Specifically, there are two aspects. First, the improvement of the primary components of the torque limiter, such as sensors, photoelectric encoders and line plug-ins, etc., because the primary components are mostly outsourced by manufacturers and are outsourced products. Due to the uneven quality of the own products, they are easily affected by local deficiencies. entire system functionality. The solution to the problem is that manufacturers must carefully select primary components, conduct multiple inspections, and compare them to optimize combinations and meet system performance requirements to the maximum extent; secondly, some manufacturers fail to achieve long-term reliability in the design of weight sensor devices. , if the display of the instrument is very accurate during acceptance, deviation may occur after 2-3 months, which often leads to the failure of the entire torque limiter system and affects system reliability.

 

There are many types of torque limiters on the market at present. When selecting a torque limiter, in addition to the characteristics of the crane type of the unit, the basic principles that should be followed are as follows: Quality and performance first, price second, domestically produced.

 

The quality and performance of the torque limiter directly affects its use and is the basic principle for selecting a torque limiter. "Mainly domestically produced" is because domestic manufacturers provide fast and thoughtful after-sales service, which provides convenient ways for later use and modification.

 

When maintaining the torque limiter, attention should be paid to the following matters: 1. The power supply, overload and over-amplitude connecting lines are concentrated in the control box. When folding and installing the control box connecting lines, pay attention to the connector numbers to avoid incorrect wiring and damage to the instrument output. port; 2. When leaving get off work, turn off the power of the host to prevent the electronic components from being exposed to high temperatures for a long time and accelerating aging; be sure to avoid the display instrument being directly exposed to the sun and rain; non-maintenance personnel should not adjust the buttons and power take-off on the instrument surface at will. If there is an abnormality in the adjusting bolt of the device, professional technicians should handle the fault according to the methods provided in the instruction manual. If the problem still cannot be eliminated, the manufacturer should be consulted.
